North Hills School District Reports Multiple Coronavirus Cases

Some students will be required to quarantine, district officials said.

ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA — North Hills School District has six new coronavirus cases to report:

  • A North Hills Middle School student who was last in school on Oct. 27.
  • Two North Hills Middle School students who were last in school on Oct. 30.
  • A Ross Elementary School student who was last in school on Oct. 30.
  • A McIntyre Elementary School student who was last in school on Nov. 4.
  • A North Hills High School teacher who was last in school on Nov. 5.

The Ross Elementary student is presumed positive. The four other students and the high school teacher each received a positive test result.

The Allegheny County Health Department has been provided with full details surrounding each case and in all cases, symptoms did not appear until several days after their last day in school.

However, some district students will be required to quarantine because they came in close contact with at least one of the students above outside of school. The district is contacting those families directly.

The health department is responsible for quarantining individuals, not the district. However, due to the heavy county caseload, the district has agreed to assist in notifying families in order to make sure all information is received in a timely manner.
