Reis Run Road Reopens After Landslide Repairs Completed

A section of the road has been closed since May.

ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA - After being closed for seven months due to a landslide, Reis Run Road has reopened between Rochester and Arndt roads. That portion of the road has been off-limits to traffic since May 31.

"I am pleased to be able to open Reis Run Road and appreciate the patience of the community and
motorists impacted by this slide,” PennDOT District 11 Executive Cheryl Moon-Sirianni said in a statement.. “Due to safety concerns and legal issues, the remediation work on Reis Run Road took much longer to begin than anticipated.”

Crews from Allison Park Contractors have completed the slide remediation work which included
hauling 16,200 tons of spoils from the site and installing 9,680 tons of recycled concrete for the rock slope. Additionally, crews conducted house demolition work, drainage repairs, erosion control matting installation and seeding.

Approximately, 4,585 vehicles use the road on a daily basis, according to PennDOT.
