ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA - In the only contested primary race for Ross commissioner Tuesday, incumbent Dan DeMarco fended off a challenge from George Tunney to win the Democratic nomination. With 100 percent of precincts reporting, DeMarco had 259 votes to Tunney's 93.

In November, DeMarco will face off against Dale Bricker Jr., who was unopposed for the Republican nomination.

In the other districts, candidates ran unopposed for their party's nomination, so the primary merely formalized these general election matchups: Democrat Sarah Poweska against Republican Sandra Lee Miller in Ward 3, incumbent Democratic commissioner Pat Mullin against Republican Paul Trilli in Ward 7 and Democratic incumbent commission Jack Betkowski against Republican Grant Montgomery in Ward 9.
