Ross Police Seek Driver Who Fled After Car Strikes, Injures Pedestrian

The 72-year-old victim is being treated for a broken leg and other serious injuries caused when a Kia Optima sedan hit her on Babcock Boulevard.

are seeking the driver who fled after striking and seriously injuring a woman Friday night in front of and Restaurant at 3382 Babcock Boulevard.

Detective Brian Kohlhepp said the car hit the 72-year-old woman, who was walking, about 10:30 p.m. The victim, whose name has not been released,who suffered a broken leg, a serious cut and other "substantial injuries" that will require ongoing treatment, police said.

Based on witness statements and other evidence, police believe the vehicle is a white Kia Optima manufactured between 2000 and 2006, Kohlhepp said. The driver’s side front bumper likely is damaged, and its corner section of the bumper is broken off.
