Services Set For North Hills School Director Arlene Bender

ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA - Funeral services will be held Saturday for North Hills School Board vice president Arlene Bender, who died Aug. 12.

Mrs. Bender, 75, of Ross, was a retired real estate agent and former teacher who served on the school board for 32 years. She also served on the Beattie Career Center board of directors during its growth in programs and buildings.

A legislative assistant to former state Rep. David Mayernik, Mrs. Bender also was a Sister of St. Francis of the Providence of God.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jim Bender; two daughters, Jacqueline and Michelle (Tony Chidichimo); a son, Jim (Gina Riccardi) and two grandchildren, Chloe and Lucas Chidichimo.

Friends will be received Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Devlin Funeral Home, 806 Perry Highway, where service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Allegheny County Memorial Park.
