Traffic to be Restricted on McKnight Road at Bridge over Babcock

Single lane closures will occur as needed in both directions from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning Monday through March 31. One lane will remain open in each direction at all times.

Weather permitting, PennDOT crews plan to restrict traffic to single lanes on McKnight Road at the bridge over Babcock Boulevard starting Monday, March 19, in order to install railings on the bridge.

Single lane closures will occur as needed in both directions from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays through March 31. One lane will remain open in each direction at all times.

The work is part of an $8.8-million, 4.6-mile project to improve McKnight Road between Nelson Run Road and Perrymont Road (Route 4056). Overall work will conclude in spring 2012. The prime contractor is Lindy Paving Inc. of New Castle.
