Two Pittsburgh-Area Pier 1 Stores Closing: Report

They are among more than 400 the retailer says will be shuttered soon.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Two Pittsburgh-area Pier 1 stores are expected to be among the 450 the retailer plans on closing.

Although Pier 1 hasn't released a full list of the stores that will be shuttered, Business Insider reported that the company this week removed more than 260 stores in 43 states from its website. Business Insider called 20 of the Pier 1 locations randomly and employees at each one said they would be closing.

Two Pittsburgh-area stores are among the 260:

  • 7219 McKnight Road, Ross
  • 351 Washington Road Washington

Both of those stores are absent from Pier 1's store locator page. If they close, Pier 1 would be down to four locations in the Pittsburgh metro area:

  • 1775 North Highlands Road, Upper St. Clair
  • 20267 Route 19, Cranberry
  • 4201 William Penn Highway, Monroeville
  • 843 Freeport Road, Waterworks Mall
