Vulakovich to Host Seminar About Changes to Small Games of Chance Law

State Sen. Randy Vulakovich (R-Shaler) is holding an informational seminar about recent changes to the small games of chance law that affect prizes, regulations and other aspects of the popular fund-raising events.

The seminar will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at the A.W. Beattie Career Center at 9600 Babcock Boulevard in Allison Park.

Seating is limited, so the senator's office is asking groups to send only one or two people to the seminar and to RSVP to Sen. Vulakovich at 412-487-6600 by Monday, March 11. His 40th District includes Ross Township and West View.

A representative from the Pennsylvania State Police's Bureau of Liquor Enforcement will attend to discuss the changes to the law and how it will be enforced.

Vulakovich said in a news release his office has received a number of inquiries from organizations with questions and concerns about the new requirements.

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue website, Act 2 and Act 184 of 2012 amend the Local Option Small Games of Chance Act to create:  

• new definitions
• increased prize limits
• new games
• additional licensing rules and regulations for organizations
• reporting requirements and amended enforcement provisions.
