Weeklong St. Sebastian Church Festival is Back
The St. Sebastian Church Festival will last through Saturday July 13.
Looming storm clouds couldn't keep patrons away from the St. Sebastian Parish Festival on Tuesday night.Â
The weeklong festival began on Monday and will continue through Saturday. The festival proceeds benefit St. Sebastian Elementary School.Â
"We have a reputation for being the single largest community festival," said Bobbie Kunz, festival committee member and finance coordinator.Â
Last years festival saw around 1,000 patrons nightly and raised around $125,000, according to Kunz.Â
An event that size requires a lot of work, and the 100 volunteers through out the day keep the festival's cogs turning.Â
With the weather forecast calling for showers all this week, Kunz said in cases of extremely inclement weather the outside events would be evacuated and cancelled but bingo and meals would still happen indoors. In her 10 years working with the festival, Kunz said she has never seen the event cancel for rain.Â
Festival hours are Monday through Thursday from 6:30-10 p.m.; Friday from 6:30-11 p.m. and Saturday from 5:30-10 p.m.
Festival goers can take part in the myriad of carnival games and rides, buy ingredients for dinner from the farmers market or win prizes like a new TV from the basket auction.Â

The winners of the raffle baskets will be pulled every night at 9 p.m, and the winners of the silent auctions will be determined Saturday night at 9 p.m.
Winners need not be present at the time of drawing for either the auction or the raffles, and prizes can be picked up from the booth on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.
While activities like the flea market, farmers market and games require cash, an ATM is located by the ticket booth closest to the entrance.Â
