West View Donates its Only Police Dog to Scott Township

The four-year-old German Shepherd was a model police dog, his handler said in an earlier Patch profile of Eddy.

Eddy, the West View Police Department's police dog, has been donated to Scott Township, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Despite a minor health concern, Eddy, the youngest police dog serving the area, was a model police dog, said his handler, West View police officer Joe Connolly .

In addition to drug busts, Eddy rescued two people, including a 4-year-old girl who was missing and a 90-year old male Alzheimer patient who wandered off and was feared dead.
