West View Police Blotter: Police Arrest One Burglar, Close in on Another

Three burglaries were reported in West View in March, according to a report by , given to those gathered Monday for the monthly Crime Watch meeting.

One, on March 10 in the 500 block of Center Avenue involved the theft of a laptop computer. It is still under investigation, but the department is close to making an arrest, Lt. Matt Holland said. 

Another reported March 16 in the 1100 block of Center Avenue involved a maintenance man who did not have permission to be on the property. No items were taken. 

And a third reported March 27 in the 200 block of Ridgewood Avenue involved the theft of three televisions. It is still under investigation.

* arrested an intoxicated man in the 300 block of Center Avenue.

* arrested a woman in K-mart for the theft of $131 in merchandise.

March 3

* seized a small amount of marijuana after a traffic stop in the 700 block of Center Avenue

* made a DUI arrest after a traffic stop in the 1500 block of Center Avenue

* seized a small amount of marijuana after a traffic stop in the 200 block of Center Avenue

* arrested three for shoplifting at K-mart

* seized marijuana after a traffic stop in the 300 block of Center Avenue

March 4

* arrested a man for possessing marijuana in the 500 block of Perry Highway

* made a DUI arrest after a traffc stop on Gass Road

* arrested a person in the 200 block of Clairmont Avenue for harassmetn by communications

March 7

* arrested a man at the district court for disorderly conduct

March 9

* arrested two people for possession of prescription pills after a traffic stop on Perrysville Avenue

* turned a counterfeit $100 bill passe at Phil's Citgo over to the Secret Service

* responded to the 20 block of Wentworth Avenue for reports of unknown objects being thrown at a house

March 11

* helped put out a stove fire in the Schwitter Apartments

* took a report of a bicycle stolen from outside the 7-eleven

* made a DUI arrest after a traffic stop in the 1700 block of Center Avenue

March 12

* set up a speed trailer on Higland Avenue

March 16

* responded to a report of a hit and run in the 200 block of Ridgewood Avenue

March 17

* made a DUI arrest after a traffic stop on Perry Highway at North Park Road

* arrested a juvenle for underage drinking in the parking lot of the 7-eleven

* made a DUI arrest after a traffic stop on Martsolf Avenue

* responded to a report of a broken window at Long John Silver's. An arrest was made.

* responded to a report of a fight at Danny's Bar

March 21

* made an arrest via a warrant in the 60 block of Lakewood Avenue

* responded to a report of a fight at Drinks Bar

March 24

* responded to multiple reports of unlocked vehicles broken into on Adrian and Yale Avenues. 

March 25

* made a drug arrest at a traffic block on Perry Highway

March 26

* took a fraud report from a woman who gave a coupon company her Visa number over the phone

March 31

* responded to a report of a wallet stolen at K-mart. Two arrests were made.
