When Will Pittsburgh's Second Dave & Buster's Open?

Word broke more than a year ago that the chain was coming to the North Hills. When will it finally arrive?

ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA - It’s the question that’s been on the minds of many since plans for a second Dave & Buster’s location in Pittsburgh were disclosed more than a year ago: When will the place finally open?

Don’t worry. It won’t be much longer. While the popular sports bar and arcade won’t debut in the North Hills in time for the holiday season, construction is well under way at the former Dick’s Sporting Goods space in The Block Northway.

“They haven’t given us an exact date,” mall spokeswoman Jamie Pavlot said. “But it probably will be sometime in mid-February.”

That would be nearly 18 months after word broke that Dave & Buster’s was coming to The Block Northway and about nine months after Ross commissioners approved a liquor license transfer for the place.

A Patch message regarding an opening date left at Dave & Buster’s Dallas headquarters was not immediately returned Thursday.

Dave & Buster’s will occupy about 40,000 square feet in The Block Northway. That’s slightly smaller than the chain’s first Pittsburgh location in the Waterfront, which is about 50,000 square feet.

Dave & Buster’s won’t be the only new addition to the west side of The Block Northway. According to the its website, the mall is preparing to welcome:

  • Torrid, a plus-sized women’s clothing store.
  • Row House, a boutique rowing fitness studio.
  • Carter’s, the children’s apparel retailer.
  • Land’s End, the clothing and home decor retailer.
