Woman Charged In Connection With Strip District Shooting Death

A Brentwood woman has been arrested in connection with the killing of 2020 North Hills High School graduate Ahmir Tuli.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Detectives from the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police have arrested a Brentwood woman in connection with the February shooting death of Ahmir Tuli, a 2020 North Hills High School graduate.

Chayla Robinson, 40, is charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution.

Tuli was shot outside of Preeti's Pit, his mother's Strip District bar, on Feb. 21. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Police have charged Howard Hawkins, who also goes by Mark McClendon, with criminal homicide in Tuli's death. According to police, Hawkins was told to leave the bar after getting into an argument. He allegedly returned a short time later and shot Tuli, who was standing outside at the time.

Hawkins remains at large.
