Association of Pittsburgh Priests to Wrap Up Spring Series with Listening and Sharing Session about Clericalism and Lay Leadership, April 30, 2019
The Association of Pittsburgh Priests (APP) invites all those concerned about the future of the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Pittsburgh to attend the last session in their spring speakers’ series. Those who gather will be the speakers and listeners in a listening and sharing session about the current state of our local church. The event will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 7 PM at Kearns Spirituality Center, 9000 Babcock Blvd. in Allison Park (behind the Motherhouse of the Sisters of Divine Providence).

With facilitation from Lois Campbell, those who attend will address the current merger process, clericalism, lay leadership and church renewal at this challenging time in our diocese. Participants will be invited to be bold in their analysis of facts, uncompromising in the defense of truth, unrelenting in resisting clerical entitlements, and generous in responding to the call for collaborative priestly and lay leadership. Please join the APP for a prayerful time of listening and discernment for our local Church.
The evening will includesmall group sharing of feelings, thoughts and recommendations, a brief report on initial efforts being made to respond locally, and conclude with opportunities for future involvement.
