120-Unit Townhouse Development Plan to be Presented Tuesday

The proposed 120-unit townhouse unit on Strawberry Acres in Laurys Station would need a zoning variance for denser housing.

A sketch plan for a 120-unit townhouse development for individuals ages 55 and older in Laurys Station will be presented at Tuesday at the North Whitehall Township Planning Commission meeting.

The development is proposed to be built on a portion of Strawberry Acres, a popular pick-your-own produce farm, which has been sold.

Township Manager Jeff Barlett said the new owners would need to apply for a variance to permit denser housing because the area is zoned agricultural/residential, which allows up to 90 units.
