Obituary: Richard M. Kleintop

 

Richard M. Kleintop, 87, of Brooksville, FL, formerly of Allentown, PA, died Tuesday, October 2, 2012 in the Vidant Service League Inpatient Hospice, Greenville, NC. He was the husband of Iris W. (Kirkland) Kleintop and
the late Emily R. (Snyder) Kleintop and Ruth E. (Pape) Kleintop. Richard faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. A graduate of East Stroudsburg University, Class of 1949, with a B.S.
in Physical Education, he was a General Science Teacher (7th & 8th Grades) in the South Mountain Jr. High School of the Allentown School District for 25 years before retiring in 1984. Prior to that, he taught in the Pennsbury School
District, Langhorne, for 2 years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Inverness, FL. An avid skier, Richard served as an instructor and director of the ski school at Big Boulder and was on the ski patrol.

Survivors: In addition to his wife, Iris; step daughters, Gretchen Marshall of Jackson, MI, Janis Anthes of New Durham, NH, Dr. Alice Mills of Lexington, KY; three step grandchildren; nieces, Elizabeth Martin, Jennifer Bordiere,
Phyllis Tunis; nephews, Greg Smith, Roger Smith.

Service: Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Grandview Cemetery, 2735 Walbert Avenue, Allentown, PA. No
calling hours. The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., in Schnecksville, is in charge of arrangements. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at
