KidsPeace Counselor Charged With Sexual Assault, Officials Say

A KidsPeace counselor has been charged with sexual assault, according court records.
Jonathan Nivar, 23, of the 700 block of Evans Street, Bethlehem, allegedly sexually assaulted two teens, ages 14 and 18, in late 2012 and early this year, according to lehighvalleylive.com.
He also was charged with statutory sexual assault and indecent assault.

Nivar worked at KidsPeace from July 30 through Jan. 25, the article said.
Nivar allegedly wrote a "love letter" to the 14-year-old, a client at KidsPeace, and showed pornography to at least one other juvenile client, according to the Morning Call.

Nivar was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge Jacob Hammond and sent to Lehigh County Prison in lieu of $250,000 bail, according to court records.
Nivar's preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 12.
