LCCC Helping Students Improve Their English for Spring 2018 with classes in downtown Allentown
Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) is offering courses at all levels to help students improve their English speaking skills. The following English as a Second Language (ESL) classes are held at LCCC’s Donley Center on Hamilton Street in Allentown, Pa. All levels offer a daytime class held 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. or an evening course from 6 to 9 p.m. The fee for each course is $168, and text is at an additional cost.
ESL 1 course teaches beginner and low intermediate students. Classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays on the following dates:
Jan. 16 through March 1; March 6 through April 19; and May 1 through June 14

A second level course, ESL 2, is for high-intermediate to advanced ESL students. The following classes are held Mondays and Wednesdays.
Jan. 15 through Feb. 28; March 5 through April 18; and April 30 through June 13

An ESL 3 level course will be offered for advanced individuals who have successfully completed ESL 2 or who are referred by credit ESL. Sessions are held Tuesdays and Thursdays on the following dates:
Jan. 16 through March 1; March 6 through April 19; and May 1 through June 14
Additionally, a class to help students improve speaking for daily tasks, such as shopping, visiting the doctor or using the telephone, as well as communication with co-workers and teachers and listening skills to improve and understand spoken English. Speaking Skills/ESL will be held Saturdays, Jan. 13 through April 21, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
