Ride for Adam, Movie at Independence Park This Week in North Whitehall

  • Fine Forgiveness Week at Parkland Community Library begins Monday, and extends through Saturday.  Return overdue items this week without incurring any fines. 
    • The Upper Lehigh Lions Club will hold a steak fry at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Schnecksville Fire Company pavilion, Call Karlene at 610-760-1170 for reservations.

    • Ride for Adam fundraiser will be held from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Schnecksville Fire Company. Registration begins at 10 a.m. Picnic from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. , followed by fireworks. The event, sponsored by the Race for Adam Foundation, helps raise money to fund research and find a cure for Neimann-Pick C disease and related neurodegenerative diseases. $25 donation, free for children under 15. For more information, contact Carol Laub at 610-760-2832 or carol@opp-knock.com

    • The 16th Annual KidsPeace Soccer Invitational will be held Saturday and Sunday at the KidsPeace Orchard Hills campus in Orefield. The first tournament of the fall season in the local area, this Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association sanctioned event had more than 60 teams participate in 2012.

    • The North Whitehall Township Tax Office will be open from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Laurys Station Fire House. Regular hours for the tax office continue through Oct. 31: 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays; 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. the second and third Saturdays of the month.     • Movies in the Park continues at 7:40 p .m. Saturday with a showing of "The Croods" at Independence Park soccer field, 4400 Independence Drive, Schnecksville. Bring a blanket or lawn chair. Free popcorn. Refreshments available for purchase, or bring your own. In case of rain, the movie will be held under the pavilion. For more information, call 484-201-7368.
