Scientists create Coconut Flavored Pineapple

After 10 years of trying, Austrailian scientists developed a new variety of sweeter, juicier pineapple that has a "lovely coconut flavor."

An article in the Telegraph reports the new pineapple, called AusFestival, is being called the "pina colada pineapple" and could potentially eliminate the need to mix fruits in the tropical cocktail.

It will probably be two years before you can skip that mixing process as it will take about that long to bring it to market..
