Five Things, or so, To Look Out For This Week

Board of Supervisors meet, Yard waste recycling and artwork on display.

Here are five things, or so, to look out for this week in Palmer and Forks townships:

1.     The Palmer Township Board of Supervisors will meet 7pm tonight in the meeting room of the Palmer Township Memorial Library, 1 Weller Place. Most notable on the agenda will be the appointment of a new township manager. In March, current township manager Robert Anckaitis announced his retirement in June.

2.     The Palmer Township Zoning Hearing Board will meet at 7:30pm Tuesday in the meeting room of the Palmer Township Memorial Library, 1 Weller Place. Most notable on the agenda is the continuance of an application from First Star Bank. The bank is requesting a variance for the installation of an electronic message sign.

3.     On display this month at the Palmer Park Mall is artwork rendered by students in the Easton Area School District. Artwork for students in grades 7 through 12 will be on display at the mall starting today through May 13. Artwork from students in grades 1 through 6 will be on display from May 13 through May 25.

4.     The Forks Township Board of Supervisors will meet at 7:30pm Thursday in the township municipal building, 1606 Sullivan Trail.

5.     It’s Curbside Yard Waste Recycle week in Palmer Township. Residents are asked to place waste in brown paper bags or bundles. Stumps or grass clippings will not be accepted. Waste placed in trash cans will not be accepted. For questions or complaints regarding pickup contact JP Mascaro & Sons at 800-333-4624

6.     The Forks Township Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring a bus trip to see the Wizard of Oz, Saturday, August 13. Tickets for the bus trip and lunch are available for purchase. For more information on prices contact Rachel Sulzbach, director of parks and recreation at 484-239-1189.
