Local Representative Reacts to bin Laden's Death

State Rep. Joe Emrick issues statement.

State Representative Joe Emrick, R-137 responding to the May 1, 2011 announcement that terrorist Osama bin Laden had been killed, issued this statement Monday:

"Today we can take solace in the fact that Osama bin Laden, the ruthless mastermind behind the attacks of September 11, 2001, has been killed. We have the greatest military in the world and its persistence and resolve to bring justice to our enemies are remarkable. My brother and several close personal friends, along with all of the men and women who serve in our Armed Forces have sacrificed much to keep our nation and freedom safe and secure and, for that, I am forever grateful."

Emrick's brother, John, has served in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard for the past 26 years.
