Long-Term Planning Key to Forks Future

Forks to unveil long-range financial plan

The Forks Township Board of Supervisors may unveil the township's seven-year financial plan in the short future.

But short-term is not in the cards for township officials who say long-range budgeting and financial forecasting are the keys to keeping Forks headed in the right direction.

"We believe long-range planning will prevent the township from living from the proverbial "paycheck to paycheck" each year, Township Manager John Cornell stated in the township's recent newsletter sent to residents.

The supervisors have worked over the past six months toward putting together a plan focusing on frugal financial planning and stressing that adequate funds and consistent revenue streams help maintain the quality of life, Cornell stated.

The township enlisted the help of department heads and took ideas from residents during numerous public meetings about the plan.
