Palmer Man Injures Three Allentown Cops During Arrest

Police arrested a man after responding to a report of a man with a knife Saturday morning.

Three Allentown police officers were injured while arresting a Palmer Township man on Saturday morning, police said.

Ricky Hill, 29, of the 2900 block of Nazareth Road in Palmer Township, is charged with three counts of aggravated assault and one count of resisting arrest, according to LehighValleyLive.com. Hill was arraigned and transported to Lehigh County Jail on $500,000 bail, the website said.

Allentown Police responded to a report of a man with a knife in the 400 block of North Hall Street around 11 a.m. Saturday. LehighValleyLive.com reported police saw Hill arguing with a woman and tried to stop the argument, before Hill ran into the house and locked the door.

Hill reportedly tried fleeing by running through the house and out the front door, where he pushed a police car door closed while an officer was exiting the vehicle and then ran into another officer, according to Lehigh Valley Live. Hill was taken to the ground, then struck and attempted to kick the officer, the website reported.

Two others were hit during the arrest.

The officers were treated for any injuries at Sacred Heart Hospital. Hill was taken to a local hospital before being processed a police headquarters.
