3 Hospitalized After 7-Vehicle Monday Crash In Phoenixville
Three people were hospitalized after a crash involving seven vehicles left several trapped in their vehicles in the borough on Monday night.
PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Three people were hospitalized after a crash involving seven vehicles left several trapped in their vehicles in the borough on a rainy Monday night.
The incident occurred before 8 p.m. on Dec. 16 on the 400 block of Nutt Road.
It's not yet clear exactly what caused the accident, but the roads were slick at that hour. At least five moving vehicles became tangled up, and wound up crashing into two parked cars, authorities said.

The vehicles snapped a utility pole and scattered debris across the road. At least three of the sedans involved suffered severe front-end damage.
Two vehicles involved in the crash each had two victims trapped inside, and first responders on the scene worked to free them.

The first trapped individual was brought out in about 10 minutes, the Phoenixville Fire Department said. The rest took another 45 minutes.
Two of the victims were taken by hospital by Paoli Hospital and Trauma Center, and third was taken nearby to Phoenixville Hospital. One of the victims taken to Paoli is in critical condition.
Nutt Road was closed for several hours as crews cleared the scene and PECO replaced the snapped utility pole.
The Phoenixville Fire Department was assisted by multiple surrounding departments on the major incident, including West End, Friendship of Royersford, and Kimberton Fire Co.
