4th Of July Fireworks 2021 Canceled In Phoenixville
Phoenixville's traditional Fourth of July events may be canceled, but here are celebrations nearby, as Bridge Street remains Open Air.
PHOENIXVILLE, PA — No one knew in the middle of last winter what the coronavirus and COVID-19 cases would look like by July 4, and Phoenixville's fireworks have fallen victim to supply chain lag.
Katie Detwiler, Borough of Phoenixville Community Engagement Coordinator, told Patch, "The Borough is unfortunately not holding any fireworks this year. We had to make a decision for our supplier in February of this year when we were unsure about state restrictions."
As COVID-19 cases continue to drop across the country — and in Chester County — and as the number of those who are fully vaccinated continues to rise, many Independence Day celebrations have once again been canceled, modified, or will be held virtually due to the pandemic.
