Will fishermen in the Catfish Derby haul in a river monster this weekend? 

Flathead catfish season is in full swing, and the Stony Creek Anglers are hosting a rain or shine derby beginning Saturday, June 12 at 6 p.m. and ending at 6 a.m. Sunday, June 19.

Two other derbies will take place this summer.

Tickets are available at Sport Fishin' Outlet at 230 W. Germantown Pike in East Norriton. 

Anglers must fish between Flat Rock Dam in Gladwyne and Black Rock Dam in Phoenixville.

All fish must be alive at weigh-in.

Flathead catfish are non-native to the Schuylkill and are considered an invasive species by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission.
