Chesco Health Dept. Food Violations: Who Had The Most This Month?

A Phoenixville restaurant had the most violations from Chester County Health Department inspections this month, but most eateries had few.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Restaurant inspections often turn up one or two violations, which may or may not be deeply concerning to diners; but one Phoenixville restaurant had 14 violations in an April 5 inspection of the Chester County Health Department.

Chikara Sushi on Bridge Street in Phoenixville had the most violations amid the last 30 days of inspection reports. One violation reported was knives and kitchen utensils being stored between table edges, in an area that is not easily cleanable and sanitized, the report said.

Overwhelmingly, dining out around Chester County is a safe and clean experience. The Chester County Department of Health inspected 210 county establishments in the last 30 days. Of those, 16 had five or more violations reported. Most had few or no violations.

April 4 marked resumed bar service for Pennsylvania restaurants, along with indoor dining capacity raised to 75 percent for those restaurants that are currently self-certified for COVID-19 public health safety guidelines, and those that undergo the self-certification process.
