Chester County Basketball Star Named to McDonald's All-American Team

A week after being nominated, Chester County's Mohamed Bamba has received the elite distinction of McDonald's All-American.

A week after being nominated, Chester County's Mohamed Bamba has received the elite distinction of McDonald's All-American. Bamba is one of just 24 boys selected to play in this year's game.

Bamba, a 6-11, 207 pound senior at West Chester's Westtown School, is one of the nation's top athletes. He is ranked the #4 player in the country by ESPN. According to 247sports.com, Bamba's college choices are down between Duke and Kentucky.

He will be honored at an event at Westtown on Wednesday at 3:45 p.m. A jersey presentation, award ceremony, and media interviews will take place throughout the day.

Bamba was one of 11 boys from Pennsylvania were nominated to the team. He was one of two Chester County athletes to be named.

Courtney Worley, of Bishop Shanahan High School in Downingtown, also earned a nomination.

The 40th annual McDonald's All-American game will take place on Wednesday, March 29 at Chicago's United Center. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
