Class of 2020 Given Boost from Renaissance Academy Board

RA Board of Trustees delivers signs of encouragement to seniors.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA – On April 18th, 2020, students from the Renaissance Academy (RA) Class of 2020 woke up to something unexpected. The RA Board of Trustees commissioned the creation of very special yard signs designed to encourage and celebrate these students, now forced to spend the remainder of their senior year at home due to COVID-19.

RA Board of Trustees President, Dan Rufo said, “Along with many others, the Board of Trustees was very disheartened to hear that the school year was canceled for our seniors. We wanted to do something for them to let them know that we were thinking of them and proud of all their accomplishments. The whole board banded together to organize, design, and, of course, deliver. It was wonderful to see the happiness and smiles that came out of our activity. Special thanks to Dr.Gina Guarino Buli (RA CEO) and Holly Mandia (RA Marketing & Communications) for their assistance!”

After the creation and printing of the sign, members of the Board of Trustees, along with RA CEO, Dr. Guarino Buli traveled around the over 20 different school district area (from which the RA student body resides) to deliver the signs to the seniors’ lawns and decks. There was a rapid Facebook outpouring from the students and their families, most using the sign’s hashtag, #RASeniorsStrong. “Thanks for thinking of the seniors”, “Eternally grateful for my RA family”, and “This is definitely my positive thought for the day” are just a few of the comments..

The 74 hard-working RA seniors, who have been accepted to prestigious universities throughout the country, have been collectively offered (to date) a scholarship total of $14,035,314.00. This is a new Renaissance Academy academic scholarship school record. While the RA community is certainly missing the day-to-day interaction with their soon-to-be-graduates, they are confident that the Class of 2020 will finish out their school year strong and go on to great successes in the future.
