What's Open, Closed In Phoenixville During Coronavirus Outbreak
Here's a glance at what's remaining open and what's closed in Phoenixville as coronavirus closures sweep across the area.
PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Some of the most quintessential things about Phoenixville have been brought to a grinding halt by coronavirus-mandated closures. Bars. Breweries. Coffee shops. Even the Colonial Theatre.
Gov. Wolf on Sunday ordered all restaurants and bars in Chester, Allegheny, Bucks, Delaware, and Montgomery counties to close their dine-in facilities as of Monday.

Additionally, all non-essential retail businesses in Chester County have been told to close. This includes gyms, theaters, malls, salons, entertainment venues, and community centers. Essential retail, like pharmacies, grocery stores, gas stations, and healthcare facilities, will remain open.
The impacts have been far-reaching in Phoenixville, a bustling economy that owes its growth to the strength of small businesses.

One way residents can support local businesses and help defray the cost of an extended closure is by buying gift cards online. This gives businesses which are often operating at the margins immediate cash. When the establishment reopens, you can use the gift card.
Yet even with such community support, there is concern the closures could put some businesses over the edge.

Small business owners are eligible for loans to help protect them during the crisis. The Small Business Administration is disbursing coronavirus-specific disaster relief for qualifying establishments (business owners can learn more here).
Here's a look at how local businesses and organizations are responding, and who is open and closed.
The Phoenixville Area Senior Center is preparing breakfast and lunch meals for distribution on weekdays, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Anyone who normally comes to the Center for meals is welcome to come make a pick-up. Call 610-935-1515 to place an order by leaving a message.
The Phoenixville satellite WIC clinic is shut down for the rest of March. West Chester will be open on a limited basis.
Phoenixville YMCA shut down indefinitely on Sunday, March 15. "It is clear that many in our community depend on our programs, childcare, and facility - making decisions such as this especially tough. We have decided to close out of an abundance of caution and to best protect our members, participants and staff."
Root Down Brewery has determined they will remain open. They'd originally said "business as usual" as recently as Saturday, but will now move to takeout only. Orders can be placed by calling 484-393-2337. Customers also get a 10 percent discount on take-away four packs of beers: One Stack, Two Stacks, Psychedelic Sway, Pils and 1999 Called, or They Want Their IPA Back.
Stable 12 is also offering to-go beer and food. Orders are 25 percent off if you purchase three four packs of beer. Call (610) 715-2665, or order via DoorDash. They're open with adjusted hours for take-out from noon to 9 p.m.
Bistro on Bridge is open, with delivery services on DoorDash and Grubhub with free online delivery, as well as in-store pickup. They're also offering 25 percent off four packs of 12 ounce and 16 ounce beers. Place orders here.

Foresta's Market on West Bridge, featuring a deli, produce, frozen section, dairy, meat, and more, remains open. The Giant on Nutt Road is open as usual.
Iron Hill is open for takeout with altered hours: Sunday through Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday to Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Molly Maguire's announced Monday that they would be closed. They are hoping to plan a St. Patrick's Day event in June, as this Saturday's annual event has been canceled. "We are pressing pause as this is a national effort but all need to take a deep breath and calm down. Our primary concern is the health and welfare of our staff and patrons and our community. Business in all sectors will need the support and assurance from all government sectors, local, state, and federal."
Steel City Coffeehouse said they were closed until the "current crisis is over." On Monday, they donated all perishable goods to Ann's Heart, Phoenixville Area Community Services, and Alianzas de Phoenixville to help stock pantries and provide basic necessities for clients of those organizations.
Sedona Taphouse and PJ Ryan's are closed until further notice. Great American Pub is closed until the end of March. Crowded Castle announced early Sunday they would be closed, without specifying an exact date, in order to follow Gov. Wolf's recommendation, before it became an order.
One of Phoenixville's newest establishments, Avlos Greek Cuisine, announced Sunday morning they're shut down until March 27.
The Phoenixville House of Jerky on S. Main Street closed on Saturday night, and "will remain closed until they receive the green light" from officials to reopen, they said. Orders can still be filled online www.phojerky.com or by calling 610-420-0776.
All borough offices and the Civic Center are closed to the public. Payments can be dropped off in the dropbox by the Borough Hall flagpole, or online.
Some businesses, like Buds pet service on Church Street, are remaining open, but are humbly asking for the public's help during the challenging time, calling the virus a "huge hit." Some customers have payed full price for canceled services, others have offered pre-payments for future services. "For years, it has been our mission and great pleasure to serve our clients and be a force they can trust and lean on without doubt. We never hoped for a day where that steadfast reliability would need to be reciprocated, but here it is."
Glow Skin Boutique Spa is closed, and asked for help via gift cards. "What would our neighborhood be without the local and small businesses? They give us a sense of local pride. The Colonial Theatre is working to reschedule events that the closures have caused. The High Kings concert, scheduled March 19, has been postponed to a to be determined date. Fanci Fridays has been pushed to April 24. Some events have been canceled, like the Clem Snide concert featuring Scott Avett.
The Soundback said that they anticipate reopening on Wednesday, April 1. They had to cancel eight shows: Lower Case Blues, Chatterband, two Sunday Blues Jams, Open Mic, Aberden/Bickel Brothers, Royal Noise/JR and the Tribe, and Che Apalache.
Belle Haven is closed and said they are working to revamp their website to offer online shopping. Threads Marketplace is also closed, and said they are taking the
The Phoenixville Chamber of Commerce offices are closed to the public "until further notice."
As of early Monday afternoon there are four cases of coronovirus in Chester County and 76 in Pennsylvania.
