Elise & Eric Frasch’s Skating Teams Place in Terry Conners Open

Stamford, CT—During the first weekend of December, siblings Elise Frasch and Eric Frasch traveled to Stamford, Connecticut to compete in the 2018 Terry Conners Synchro Open synchronized skating competition. Synchronized skating is a team sport in which 8-20 skaters perform a program together. It uses the same judging system as singles, pairs and dance and is characterized by teamwork, speed, intricate formations and challenging step sequences.
Elise Frasch, 7th grader at Renaissance Academy Charter School, skates for the Pre-Juvenile level team which placed 3rd in the competition. Eric’s Syncro Skills team came in 2nd place. Eric is a 4th grade student, also at the Renaissance Academy.
Valley Forge Cadettes represent and practice out of Center Ice of Oaks Figure Skating Club located in Oaks, PA. This was the third completion this season for the Cadettes. In October, they competed in the Philadelphia Synchronized Skating Invitational in Hatfield, PA where Elise's team placed 4th Eric's team 2nd. The teams also competed in the Essex Synchro Classic in Essex NJ in November. Eric's team placed 1st there.

Elise and Eric reside in Phoenixville, PA with their parents, Steven and Pamela Frasch. Elise has been ice skating since she was 6, skating with the Valley Forge Cadettes for 4 years. Eric has been skating since he was 5 and this is his first year with the Cadettes.
While, both young skaters cite “making new friends” as a valuable benefit of being a member of the skating team, Elise has also enjoyed refining and improving her skills. Eric said, “Elise inspired me to start skating. I like making new friends and winning medals.”
