Former Phoenixville Firefighter Passes Away At 66

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — John E. Swanson, age 66, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017 in the Seasons Hospice, Phoenixville, PA. Born on February 15, 1951 in Phoenixville, PA, he was a son of the late William P. Sr. and Helen M. (Vogel) Swanson.

Mr. Swanson worked for Worthington Steel in Malvern for over 17 years. He was a member of the West End Fire Company and the Friendship Fire Company in Phoenixville. He enjoyed boating and fishing on the Chesapeake with his family and friends.

Mr. Swanson is survived by five siblings, William P. Swanson, Jr. of Phoenixville, PA, Barbara A. Swanson of Phoenixville, Raymond A. Swanson of Phoenixville, PA, Joseph M. Swanson of Phoenixville, PA, and Scott D. Swanson of Phoenixville, PA; and one niece, Erica Swanson of Phoenixville, PA. Mr. Swanson was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Thomas Swanson, and one nephew, Edward F. Swanson, Jr.
