Local Bands Compete To Play At Chesco Country Music Festival
10 local artists will compete in a two-day "Battle of the Bands," with three winners earning apperances on the music festival's big stage.

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Local artists will once again have a chance to shine on the big stage, as local bands will compete for a spot on the Citadel Rising Stars stage at the upcoming Citadel Country Spirit USA music festival in Chester County.
Up to 10 local artists will compete in a two-day "Battle of the Bands" at Valley Forge Casino in August. Three winners will be selected to perform at the festival later in the month at Ludwig's Corner.
In order to be eligible, local bands must be from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Delaware, and must frequently perfomr in the area. Contestants have until July 28 to submit a video for consideration (learn more details at the Country Spirit USA website).

The Battle of the Bands is free and open to the public and will take place on Aug. 7 and 8 at the Valley Beach at Valley Forge Casino. Doors open each night at 5 p.m. Winners will be announced on Aug. 9.
The three winners will be selected based on "entertainment value, performances, audience appeal, and marketability," organizers said, and will each receive $1,000, in addition to an opportunity to play on the big stage.

The festival itself will be held from Aug. 23 through Aug. 25. Headliners include Old Dominion, Billy Currington, and Little Big Town.
The festival's capacity is around 15,000 per day.
