Long-Time Church Pastor Dies at 79

Rev. Walter O. Reimet, Jr., 79, of Shannondell, and formerly of Havertown, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Seasons Hospice of Phoenixville.  He was the husband of the late Virginia H. (Hines) Reimet, who died in 2009.

Rev. Reimet was born in Philadelphia to the late Walter O. Sr. and Helen (Fink) Reimet.  He was a graduate of Central High School, Philadelphia, PA.  He earned a B.S. in Science from Muhlenburg College and then his M.Div from The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia.  Rev. Reimet served for thirty years as pastor at Temple Lutheran Church, Havertown, PA.He was also a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Phoenixville, PA and Kiwanis International.

He is survived by his daughters: Pamela Reimet McGuire and husband Joseph, of Foxborough, MA; Karen Reimet, of King of Prussia; and Elizabeth Reimet and husband Bennett Siegel, of Ft. Washington; grandchildren: Meghan, Abby, Dan, Andy, Marlee and Eric; and brother, Richard Reimet and wife Elaine, of Warrington, PA.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 355 St. John’s Circle, Phoenixville, PA 19460 at 11:30 AM.  Friends will be received from 9:30-11:15 AM.
