More Than 2,500 Without Power Around Chester County

Breaking: A powerful storm with dangerous winds left more than 2,500 residents around Chester County without power early Friday.

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — More than 2,000 residents around Chester County were without power Friday morning after a powerful storm front whipped through the region.

The storm brought strong winds, torrential rains, and hail, causing damage to power lines and accidents on many area roads.

In Chester County, there were a total of 18 outages, with 2,510 customers left without power as of 10:30 a.m.

Among the areas hardest hit, with the number of customers impacted:

  • East Bradford - 250
  • East Marlborough - 175
  • Londonderry - 375
  • North Coventry - 507
  • Tredyffrin - 225
  • Uwchlan - 120
  • West Whiteland - 242
  • Willistown - 135

Crews responded to downed wires and damaged transformers in North Coventry, on Schuylkill Road, and West Bradford, on Doyle Drive, shortly before 10 a.m.

Areas like Phoenixville and West Chester had avoided any outages as of 10:30 a.m.
