PACS remains open for emergency food distribution during COVID-19
Families and individuals facing food insecurity can contact PACS during the crisis.
Phoenixville, PA March 13, 2020: Phoenixville Area Community Services (PACS) will remain open to provide food to those individuals and families who face food insecurity during the COVID-19 crisis. Staff have implemented stringent sanitization steps to promote safe food handling and the safety of clients and volunteers.
More than 1 in 10 people don’t have enough money to cover just one week without receiving a paycheck.1 The combined impact of already limited resources and the closure of area businesses can mean many area families may not be able to put food on the table.
“We are already seeing an increase in the numbers of people who need access to quality food,” says Mary Fuller, Executive Director. “Our staff and volunteers are committed to keeping PACS open, as long as we are not mandated to close by county, state or federal government. The community needs us, and we are here for them.”
