Phoenixville Father, Engineer And Youth Sports Coach, Dies At 54

Described as a "family oriented and very motivated" man, Roman W. Dychdala was a husband and a father of three children.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- Roman W. Dychdala, P.E., P.L.S. age 54, husband of Kelly A. (McDonough) Dychdala, of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 in Einstein Medical Center Montgomery. Born on August 21, 1963 in Norristown, Pennsylvania, he was a son of Lydia (Korchynsky) Dychdala of Norristown, PA and the late George R. Dychdala.

Roman was a graduate of Norristown High School, as well a 1986 graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. Following a successful career in engineering, he went on to be the Co-founder of Inland Design, an engineering and land surveying firm in West Chester, PA. Roman was an outdoorsman, and liked golfing, fishing, hiking, camping, reading books, and completing puzzles, not to mention cheering for his favorite Philly sports teams. A very family oriented and motivated man, he coached his children's softball, baseball, and CYO teams as they grew up. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Phoenixville, and was charitable in donating his time and engineering expertise to better serve area churches and organizations.

In addition to his wife and mother, Roman is survived by three children, Colleen N., Andrew R., and Erin M. Dychdala, all of Phoenixville; three siblings, Eugene Dychdala of Norristown, PA, Nella, wife of Rob Venella of Collegeville, PA, and Maria, wife of Eric Hanzel of Pittsburgh, PA; and eleven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one nephew.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass in the St. Ann Chapel, 604 South Main Street, Phoenixville, Pennsylvania on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. Charles R. O'Hara. Burial will be held in the Ss. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Church Cemetery, King Of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Friends will be received from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Friday at Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc, Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA or on Saturday morning, April 28 in the St. Ann Chapel from 9:30 am - 10:45 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the 'Roman Dychdala Children's Education Fund', c/o Phoenixville Federal Bank and Trust, 120 Main Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460.
