Phoenixville Health Inspections: Prima, Nudy's, Steel City Coffee

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — The Chester County Health Department inspected 22 Phoenixville area establishments over the past month, from the period of June 5 to July 3. Of those, 10 had at least one violation.
Prima Motel and Lounge led the way with seven violations.

- "Dead insect like debris in kitchen hand sink and floor edge behind bar."
- "Soap was not available at the handwash sink in the bar area."
- "Trash food like debris on floor behind equipment behind bar and under soda boxes."
- "Heavy food like debris observed in microwave oven in bar."
- "Unclean dishes stored in rinse and sanitizer bays of 3-basin sinks"
- "Dumpster lids open at time of inspection."
- "Food facility does not have a certified food manager as required."
- Bistro on Bridge, inspected June 20, five violations
- "Two chemical spray bottles stored hanging on speed rack."
- "Debris build up in 2-soda gums at main bar."
- "Bulk dry good food storage containers, in the dry storage area,are not labeled with the common name of the food."
- Sage Mediterranean Cusine, inspected June 19, four violations
- "Dirty dishes stored on top of portable (White) cutting board at wait station."
- "Table cloth lining shelf with clean trays, and cooking equipment."
- Palermo's Pizza, inspected June 18, four violations
- "Debris build up in back corners and ledge under grill top."
- "Temperature measuring device for ensuring proper temperature of equipment is not available or readily accessible in Pizza bain marie."
- Valley Forge Trattoria Lounge, inspected June 17, six violations
- "No paper towels at the hand sink."
- "Soup and sauce were held at 115°F, in the steam table, rather than 135°F or above as required."
- "Steak and lobster tails were observed thawing on the counter. A container of chicken (?) was observed thawing at room temperature in water on the floor below the pizza oven. Neither of which is an approved thawing method."

- "Debris build up in soda gun holder."
- "Paint peeling on wall and wooden sill behind food prep table and bain marie."
- "Heavy debris build up on floor under equipment on cooks line."
- Steel City Coffee House, inspected June 14, six violations
- "Absorbent cloth stored on shelf in upstairs reach in beverage cooler in kitchen. "
- "Basement food prep sink filled with a crate."
- "Food like debris (dairy) observed on bottom right side shelf in basement 2-door reach in cooler."
- The Barrel by A'Dello Wines, inspected June 14, six violations
- "Spent water stored in mop bucket."
- "The food facility does not employee a certified employee as required."
- Gateway Pharmacy, inspected June 12, one violation
- "Several water stained ceiling tiles throughout retail space."
- Nudy's Bridge Street Cafe, inspected June 10, six violations
- "Table top can opener blade unclean. Slicer undercarriage unclean."
- "Hand wash sink next to waffle maker and steam table draining slowly."
- "Uncovered employee beverage stored on shelf near internet unit."
- "Ice scoop handle touching public service ice."
