Phoenixville HS Grad, 'Kind Man With A Good Heart', Dies At 60

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — William Preston Shaner, age 60, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at home. Born on February 23, 1958 in Pottstown, PA, he was a son of the late J. Richard and Elizabeth L. (Kronmuller) Shaner.

Preston was a graduate of Phoenixville High School, and he was a long time social member of West End Fire Company in Phoenixville and Valley Forge Fire Company. Loved by many, he was a kind man with a good heart who enjoyed spending time with his nieces, nephews, and family. Preston was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Mr. Shaner is survived by six siblings, Betty L., wife of George Quay of York, PA, J. Richard Jr., husband of Robin Shaner of Spring City, PA, Sonia M., wife of Frank Wasco of Narvon, PA, Janice E. Yonkoske of Phoenixville, PA, Gail L. Bell of Downingtown, PA, and Lydia Shaner Tallarico of Phoenixville, PA; six step-siblings, Patricia Callow, Joni Craner, John Craner, Sharon Doms, Robin Bortz, and Brenda Gallo; and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral ceremony at the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. David R. Willauer. Burial will be held in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Spring City, PA. Friends will be received from 9:30 am - 11:00 am Thursday at the funeral home.
