Phoenixville Looks For Volunteers To Plant Trees In Borough
Want to help make Phoenixville a little bit greener? The borough will also be honored with a Tree City USA Growth Award.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- The Borough will be planting 20 trees on the morning of Saturday, April 23rd in celebration of Arbor Day. The trees were purchased through a grant from the Pennsylvania Horticulture Society in conjunction with their TreeVitalizeprogram and Plant One Million campaign. Trees will be planted along streets in the Borough and in Reeves Park.
The volunteer group (including Phoenixville Area High School students and Boy Scouts) will meet at Reeves Park at 9 am where representatives from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and the Borough will read an Arbor Day Proclamation. The Arbor Day Foundation will also be awarding Phoenixville with a Tree City USA Growth Award. This will be followed by a demonstration planting after which the group will split up and plant the other 19 trees.
This is a great way for residents and families to celebrate Arbor Day and Earth Day and give back to the community. If you are interested in volunteering please contact the Phoenixville Tree Advisory Commission at phxville.tac@gmail.com.
