What business are you in?
“I am an in-home and Online personal trainer and group fitness instructor.”
How did you come up with the name?
“I came up with the name because I wanted to showcase that that it was a fitness business, but its also all about your whole image. Not just the way you look but the way you feel and that’s all about better body image. Better body image comes from positive attitude and learning to love yourself. I feel that we do that through fitness.”
Why start a business in this town?
“This town is similar to where I grew up. Lots of nice people who care about their community, and aren’t trying to pretend to be something they’re not. People here are real, and I like to work with people like that. (It also helps that I live here.)“
What’s the most difficult challenge you’ve faced as a business owner?
“Personally the biggest challenge for me has been getting my name out there. I think because I am not from around here and don’t have many local connections that it’s hard for me to meet prospective clients. I joined the chamber of commerce and I feel that has been quite a help. Other business owners in the area are really welcoming.”
What’s been your proudest achievement since opening?
“Proving my methods work. In the fitness industry we all have our own method of doing things. Not everyone’s method will work for you, but I’ve consistently helped clients reach their goals, and that is definitely my biggest achievement. For me it’s not just about running a business, what matters really is helping people.”
How does your business give back to the community?
“Since moving to the community I haven’t gotten a chance to really start getting involved (Moving a business is a huge task), but come spring I have some big things cooking. I want to have some free community boot camps throughout the area, and I always love to volunteer to do things outside so I’ll be donating time cleaning up local parks or the trail or something.”
