When did you go into business?

March 2008

How did you come up with the name?

“‘Shep‘ comes from the first part of my last name. My nick name has always been Shep.”

Why start a business here?

“Born and raised in Phoenixville. Proud to have lived here my whole life.”

Briefly, what business are you in?

“Sheps Yard is a Landscape Supply business. We are a registered nursery with the Dept of Agriculture.We are also a PA prefered business with the Dept. of Ag meaning we purchase and sell locally grown materials.”

What’s the most difficult moment or challenge you’ve faced as a business owner?

“Trying to grow my business and keep the one on one attention with my customers as we add new faces. Keeping the family business, a family businessand never letting quality diminish.”

What’s been your favorite moment/proudest achievement since opening?

“Moving the business to our current location on Pothouse Road.Building our new facility from the ground up and being well respected in the community.”

How does your business give back/get involved in the community?

“We donate to many charities and local schools along with donating to the local fire company and ambulance.”
