Phoenixville Woman, Active In Theater, Local Politics, Dies At 79

Phoenixville's Beverly Wilson, 79, was engaged in children's theater, local politics, the Junior League of Philadelphia.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Beverley L. Wilson, age 79, wife of Wesley L. Wilson, of Phoenixville, PA, formerly of Winnetka, IL and Valley Forge, PA, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at home. Born on December 6, 1938 in Parkersburg, WV, she was a daughter of the late Arthur R.K. Matthews, M.D. and Doris L. (Kenney) Matthews.

Mrs. Wilson received a dual major bachelors degree in Political Science and History from Northwestern University. While living in Illinois, she was active in community and children's theater, local politics, and was a member of The Junior League of Chicago. In 1981, she and her husband moved to Valley Forge, PA, where she continued her active involvement in children's productions and local politics, and was also a member of The Junior League of Philadelphia.

In addition to her husband of 55 years, Mrs. Wilson is survived by four children, Wendolyn, wife of the late Michael Cangialosi of Pottstown, PA, Wesley L. "Tripp" Wilson III, husband of Laura of Phoenixville, PA, Aimee, wife of Hudson Kucera of Pottstown, PA, and Brooke, wife of Seth Biederman of Havertown, PA; eight grandchildren, Alexandra Cangialosi, Paige and Blake Wilson, Rebecca, Elizabeth, and Abigail Kucera, and Matt and Rachel Biederman; and three nieces and nephews. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by one sister, Joan Erkert.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc, 610 South Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 10:30 am. Officiating will be Rev. Daniel K. Olsen. Burial will be held in the Washington Memorial Chapel Churchyard, Valley Forge, PA.
