Phoenixville's Steel City Coffeehouse Officially Opens Brewery
Coffee stout now on tap. The borough's newest brewery has officially begun serving.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — The borough's newest brewery has officially opened its doors.
Steel City Coffeehouse held a ribbon cutting ceremony for its new Artisan Nano Brewery on Wednesday evening.
"I'm unbelievably excited for what we'll produce," brewer Josh Weikert said in the initial announcement. "Our intention is not to compete with the existing beer scene. It's already fantastic. But what we are setting out to do is bring a personal, approachable craft beer experience that you probably won't find in a dedicated brewery. We're offering a unique gateway for soon-to-be-beer-lovers and beer geeks alike."

Three beers are currently on tap: a Steel Mill Stout made with coffee, a Breech and Rail IPA in the English style, and a High Bridge Blonde ale "for all seasons."
Steel City has been reborn since it was taken over by Ed Simpson and Laura Vernola-Simpson back in May 2016, with even more food, drinks, and live, local music.

The brewery has already won a "Favorite New Craft Brewery" award from County Lines Magazine. Numerous beers will be available, but the coffee stout, brewed using Hobo Ed's distinctively delicious coffee, is expected to be a favorite.
