'The Pick' In Phoenixville Sold, Will House Apartments, Brewery

The historic Phoenixville Pickering Creek Inn building was a tough sell, but a new buyer has plans for it, said agent Geoffrey Moody.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — News that the Pickering Creek Inn has been sold and will be revamped into apartments and a brewery met with mixed community comment over the weekend.

Keller Williams Commercial Real Estate Investment Associate Broker and Commercial and Managing Partner at Global Icon Properties, LLC Geoffrey Moody made the announcement in a Phoenixville community group on social media Friday.

"I am proud to announce that I was able to finally sell The Pickering Creek Inn in Phoenixville, PA after this mix-use property fell out of contract multiple times in the past few years and had a lot of 'hair' on this deal," Moody wrote.

He continued, "I was able to find the right buyer, who is going to redevelop this property into a modern apartment building with a great new brewery on the ground floor. This 1830 building that was once a Civil War infirmary, will have new life now and be a great addition to the community."

Reactions from Phoenixville-area members could loosely be group into several responses, paraphrased here:
