A rainy weekend is expected for Pennsylvania this weekend - particularly on Saturday, when consistent precipitation and some thunderstorms could last throughout the day, forecasters say. But the skies should clear up by Sunday.
A hazardous weather outlook has been issued for the entire state east of Reading. Strong to severe thunderstorms with gusty winds and hail are possible on Friday and Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

But eastern Pennsylvania won't be spared. Rain and thunderstorms are expected to begin after midnight on Saturday and last until evening, according to the National Weather Service.

In eastern Pennsylvania, the chance for rain and thunderstorms is 70 percent on Saturday, but things are supposed to get better on Sunday, when the chance for rain is 20 percent.

Here is the forecast:
- Friday: A slight chance of showers, then scattered showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Cloudy, with a high near 83. South wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Friday night: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 11pm. Patchy fog after 3am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 66. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
- Saturday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 83. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Saturday night:A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Sunday: A slight chance of showers before 8am, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. Northwest wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
