Transforming Parking Spots Into Parks In Phoenixville
The Park(ing) Day Global Initiative aims to turn parking spaces into temporary parks, raising awareness for public space.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- Chester County's Classic Towns is hosting a unique event to raise awareness for public space in several local municipalities, including Phoenixville.
During Parking Day, citizens take a parking space in town and turn it into a temporary mini public park. The day is part of a global initiative challenging citizens to reevaluate the way they see public spaces and how they can be utilized
The Phoenixville event will take place in front of KMS Design Group, LLC, on 243 Bridge Street. They will be partnering with Meliora Design.

Participants are encouraged to come out from 2 p.m. t0 8 p.m. on Friday, September 16 to help design the "park."
The Transportation Management Authority of Chester County said that in Phoenixville, organizers will discuss storm water management and land planning. There will also be games, balloon animals, places to relax, and a water fountain. They will have fun games, balloon animals, places to relax, and a water fountain.
