Two State Troopers Hospitalized After Early Morning Chase

The pursuit started Monday morning near Reading and ended in Montgomery County with the suspect in custody.

Two Pennsylvania state troopers are recovering at Phoenixville Hospital following an early morning chase through Berks and Montgomery counties Monday, according to NBC Philadelphia.

The Associated Press reports that the pursuit began shortly after 2 a.m. when Reading police radioed for assistance with a chase for a robbery suspect. The troopers followed the car onto Route 422 in Montgomery County, where spike strips were placed on the road.

After crossing the spikes, the car crashed into two patrol vehicles, sending the troopers to the hospital. The suspect has been placed into custody, according to reports.
