A COVID-19 vaccine clinic is open May 6 at Phoenixville Area High School for any student 16 or older.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Phoenixville Area High School is holding a free COVID-19 vaccine clinic today, May 6, for any student 16 and over, the Phoenixville Area School District announced today.

With parental consent, 92 students pre-registered to receive the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

This free clinic was the result of a partnership between Phoenixville Area School District, Gateway Pharmacy, Phoenixville Borough Mayor’s Office, Phoenixville Hospital, Phoenixville Office of Emergency Management, and West End Fire Company.

Students were excited to get the vaccine, although several admitted to “hating shots,” the district said. During the 15-minute waiting period following the shot, students were treated to snacks and free gifts from the partnering groups.

Three weeks from now, we will repeat the process when students return to receive their second dose.
